Will this theme bring Google Discover traffic?
No theme can guarantee that. Discover depends mostly on your story quality, freshness, headline and image. DeePress Pro covers the technical side Discover needs, such as large images, NewsArticle data, author and date, and fast pages, so your stories are not held back by the theme.
Do I need a separate SEO plugin?
Not for the basics. The theme prints meta tags, Open Graph, Twitter cards and structured data itself. If you install Yoast, Rank Math, All in One SEO or SEOPress, the theme turns its own SEO off to avoid duplicates.
Is the license really lifetime?

Your posts, pages and images stay as they are. Theme settings in the Customizer are new, so you need to set them again. Take a full backup before switching.
